"You can print a simple image out from your computer then apply it to your sticky-back plastic and cut through it."
Once you have your storage boxes, old or new, purchase your Plasti-kote spray paint and get creative. Why not browse your child's book collection for some big bold imagery or get online for inspiration? Remember, look for simple designs or shapes as they will be easiest to re-create and are usually more effective.
Of course you may prefer to follow the examples given here and use simple teddy bear, train orcrayon designs. Start by lightly drawing the outline of your design on the sticky-back plastic.
Once you've drawn your outline carefully cut your chosen design out. You now have your mask.
Remove the backing from the sticky-back plastic and apply to the surface of your storage box. Before you begin spraying place down plenty of newspaper to protect the floor and surroundingarea when spraying.
Spray the Super White Primer all over the stencil then wait 20 minutes.
If you are following the train design you need to cover over the train's chimney while you spray the main body of the train as both areas are different colours. To do this place newspaper overthe chimney (ensuring there is a big overlap) and stick down with masking tape. Pay particularattention to the point where the chimney meets the trains body, stick a strip of tape along this edge so that when sprayed you will have a clean line. Now spray Gloss Super Real Red, leave this to dry for 45 minutes.
Once dry carefully remove the paper mask from the turret. You now need to place a paper mask over the main body of the train and stick down with masking tape, again paying particularattention to the point where the train's body meets the chimney so you achieve a clean line when sprayed. Now spray Gloss Super Rustic Blue.
To finish carefully remove all the mask after the image is completely dry, allow 45 minutes.
