Why spend a packet on art when you can make your own? We've used a butterfly template for this look, but the options are endless. You could even simply cut your design out of textured craft paper and stick it straight onto the sprayed canvas.

Lay out newspaper in a well-ventilated work area.
Spray the whole of the canvas in the colour that you want your design to be (for example, a butterfly), including the edges.
Create your template by sketching it onto thin card and cutting out carefully with scissors or a scalpel. Try folding the card in half and cutting through the two sheets at once to ensure that the design is symmetrical.
Once your canvas is fully dry, spray the reverse of your template with Repositionable Adhesive and affix to the canvas. Make sure that the edges are firmly pressed into place.
Then spray the whole canvas with the template in place, applying two coats if necessary to ensure that the base colour does not show through.
Once fully dry, remove the template.
