Cane headboard
Your bedroom could be quickly brought up to date with a new headboard. They are easily picked up at second-hand shops and auctions; why not see what you can find or give your current one a revamp? Test out a range of Matt or Satin finishes or even try something metallic - there's sure to be a Plasti-kote shade to suit your scheme. Then look out for cushions in bold patterns and textured fabrics to complete the look.
Complement your new headboard by adding rich colours to other bedroom items such as lamps and bedside tables. These items could also be made-over with Plasti-kote Spray Paint.
Lay out newspaper in a well-ventilated work area.
Vacuum the front and back of the wicker to remove any dust and dirt trapped in the lattice.
Wipe over with a damp cloth, and allow to dry.
Spray the headboard evenly with several thin coats of Metallic Graphite, allowing to dry thoroughly in between.
