Plasti-kote increases its share of the trade & industrial market

Plasti-kote has made significant progress in its bid to develop its volume of the trade and industrial paint market. 2005 was a difficult period for the retail paint market but Plasti-kote experienced a 15% growth in its industrial and trade sales and increased the number of outlets stocking its products. This growth was a result of higher usage of spray paints within these channels.

"There has been a greater recognition of spray paint as a bonafide tool by the engineer and tradesman," said Mike Watson, Managing Director of Plasti-kote. "The quality of finish, speed and convenience of spray paint has convinced the industry to use our products in a number of different applications. We recognise that many trade and industrial users would previously have only been exposed to our products by virtue of their existence in the DIY market. Developing our range to include trade and industrial products and broadening the channels we operate in has allowed the tradesmen access to quality spray paint products relevant to their industry.

Drawing on its extensive experience of developing the consumer market, Plasti-kote is now in discussion with its key trade outlets and industrial distributors to develop a strategy for educating the trade and industrial user.

Key products include metal primer, heat shield, hot paint, metal protekt, stain sealer and super enamel.
